Tuna’s LP is well on its way! These feisty Brazilians were absolute workhorses in the studio: recorded early April, it was mixed, mastered and sent off to be pressed at the start of May, and it’s gonna be great !
The band’s second release is titled Dupla Face (meaning “duplex” or “two-sided”) cos it’s kind of a symmetrical concept album. In order to express different points of view (not necessarily opposed), each song works as a pair with a corresponding track on the flipside.
As a preview, you can listen to the first set: Boas razões pra não queimar gasolina x Boas razões pra queimar gasolina (Good reason not to burn gasoil / Good reason to burn gasoil). The opener is a bikepunk anthem in praise of those who ride the asphalt every day, risking their lives in an ocean of cars and gas-guzzling commuters. The second song is all about the DIY network spread all over the world.
The other coupled tracks to look forward to are: Setenta por cento de mar x Vem na fé, tio, que a resistência é fértil (Seventy percent of sea / Believe me, mate, the revolution is ripe), La vie en close x Le grand tour – Closed life (a play on the French expression la vie en rose) / The big tour – and Pelos bigodes de Friedrich Nietzsche x O caldeirão de Sonia Hirsch (Friedrich Nietzsche’s moustache / Sonia Hirsch’s cooking pot, referring to a Brazilian nutritionist). That’s four pairs of songs on a 30-minute record.
The LP will be officially released in Europe in July for Tuna’s tour. Gatefold (with a wolf on the cover !), 1000 copies on jet-black vinyl. We can’t wait!
